Side note: It's funny how people in this town want to encourage everyone to shop small businesses and keep the money local, yet this has been my experience with a lot of the small businesses in this town. Unfortunately, with some small town stores you also get a small town mentality. Big Box stores only seem to care about one color- GREEN. People want to shop where they feel welcome and appreciated, regardless of who they are.
I worked withVeronica and Shawn when I went into the shop. My son and I just stopped in to see what they had for my wife. They are just genuinely nice people. The arrangements are beautiful and the chocolates delicious. My son who can be difficult sometimes as every 4 year old can be was treated extremely nice by the staff. They talked to him about the chocolates, flowers and some sea shells they had there. This is hands down the best experience I ever had shopping for a floral arrangement for my wife. We will be visiting again. Thank you Shawn and Veronica.

You delivered flowers to my daughter to my daughter today and they are so lovely! The balloon and chocolate was nice as well. I have ordered from you for a few years for her birthday, since she is in college and I am in California. Every year your arrangements are so beautiful! And the flowers last a long time too. I agree with another reviewer who stated that you must be the right type of person to get good service here. I don't want to go so far as to say that maybe race is a factor in that, but I've never had a friend of color tell us good things about doing business with this establishment. Nevertheless, since it was near the mall and we were out shopping, we decided to give Steve's Floral a try. The coldness we received from the woman who 'helped' us should have been the first indication, but we continued and made an order to be delivered to mom at her job (where she usually is). We also ordered a week in advance since it was for a major holiday that keeps florists busy. Well, the bouquet was delivered to her home instead- even after we ASKED repeatedly before paying for the flowers if it would be delivered to her JOB, if we were giving enough notice. Not a big deal unless you consider that her white coworker (whose husband went in on the same day- at a later time- and ordered a similar bouquet for his wife) received her flowers on the morning of the holiday! Flowers ordered on the SAME day, going to the SAME place, and the only difference was the skin color of the two families involved. So I guess we know now where NOT to show our face looking for flowers. Will stick with Dillion's or HyVee from now on.
