This place is like the twilight zone. Went in here with the wife cause she likes birkenstocks. She found a pair she liked and asked the lady if she could try them on in a size 40; The lady told her to just try on the floor model which were 36s. So she squeezed into them and showed the lady they were too small which she didn't really seem to care about. So we asked if she could indeed try on a 40. She goes to the back and brings out 39s and says they might fit. I had to literally tell her "If she's a size 40, shouldn't she try on a size 40?" In an inconvenienced manner she finally went and retrieved the 40 in brown (we asked for black) which actually fit, but when we pointed out that they were brown and not black, she said they will fit the same so just try them on. At this point we just looked at eachother and decided this was not the place to spend any money... Never had to beg anyone to buy their shoes, this place is bizarre. Gave em 2 stars because maybe the cobbler does decent work?
Update. The heel caps that were put on my boots are worn everyday. Still they are showing very little wear. March 12 2017.

Probably the best cobbler in the Midwest. Took some very beat up shoes and fixed them up like new in a couple of days for a few bucks and worked on some hiking shoes as well. Very satisfied- great place to do business with.
Often my shoes (belts, etc) are returned better than when I first bought them-especially re: slippery soles on my high heels. Thanks Olsons!
