Ann Christian is a caring, attentive, fair, experienced, and professional realtor. She helped us through some issues around closing due to not being able to perform a proper walk through of the house. The purpose of a Buyer’s agent is to deal on your behalf and act as a buffer with the other party. Ann Christian did her job well. Ann Christian will protect your interests as a Buyer or Seller. She was honest with us and has great principles. Don’t buy a house without a realtor and Ann Christian should be your first choice.
I understand that, as a buyer's agent, the role of the realtor is to protect the interests of the buyer. This does not, however, excuse how Ann Christian turned a situation that was totally out of our control into a very unpleasant selling experience for us. It is not acceptable to step on others while they are down, and assume you need to use a stick to 'make people do the right thing', regardless of which 'side' you are on. In a civil society, an effort should always be made to solve difficult situations through respectful discussion between two reasonable parties.
It is not out of frustration that I decided to write this review, but out of sadness and disappointment. Manhattan has been a wonderful place to live and it is unfortunate that this had to be one of our final experiences of this town we have called home. It is never excusable to deal with people in a manner that assumes they are not, under extremely difficult circumstances, trying their utmost to meet deadlines.
My husband and I just moved into our new home in Manhattan, which we purchased with the help of Ann Christian. We found Ann to be everything a great realtor should be - professional, available at any time, responsive, generous, knowledgeable, and fun to work with. Throughout the whole process, (and through a few bumps in the road) we always knew Ann 'had our back' and would advocate for us with our best interests in mind. Ann, of course, we have put this behind us. It was a series of very unlikely and unfortunate events that put us as sellers in a vulnerable position from which you extracted advantage for your clients, such is life, but I hope that in the future you pause to think that the people you are dealing with ‘on the other side’ (the sellers in this case) are professional and reasonable and should be treated that way.
