I took my 13 year old cat in on two occasions and paid just under $300 for blood and urine tests on his thyroid, among other things. The final result was nothing was wrong with him excepting a cavity and minor gingivitis, which would cost about $800 to remedy the decaying tooth. They gave me some food for $30 to help with appetite ; unfortunately it was not effective.

Worst experience I have ever had. I adopted a cat because my friend was going to be evicted if I had not. So i set up an appointment to have her fixed. They couldn't just do that. They wanted to charge me 185 dollars for shots and then 185 again three weeks later for boosters. and then the actual surgery was going to be 500 dollars a month later as she is about to go into heat. when i called to setup the appointment the receptionist told me that the doctor just need to see if she had any habits before they did the surgery and that this would cost 45 dollars which would still have been absurd because i just wanted a surgery done. I have owned multiple cats and have never felt so ripped off shots are typically around 60 dollars and the surgery is nowhere near 500. i called back because i had called to some other vets and family members and when the guy answered the call he had every excuse under the sun for this nonsense i had just experienced. I have a job that requires me to talk to many customers and give excellent service as any place of employment should know to do here in 2016. So i will go out of my way to tell every person i meet that this establishment is not trustworthy and just looking to take advantage of anybody that walks through their doors. BECAUSE NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ALMOST A GRAND TO KEEP THEIR FRIEND FROM GETTING EVICTED AND TRYING TO KEEP THE OVERPOPULATION OF ANIMALS AT A DECLINE!!!

My 3 year old Rottweiler is an established patient at Blue Hills Animal Hospital. Over the weekend (after business hours) my pup became violently ill and after a long stressful night of worry, the ladies at Blue Hills promptly answered the phone at 7:30 a.m. on a Monday. The staff was very knowledgeable and understanding and knew I had a pet emergency! Although they did not have an early morning appt available for my pup, they offered to take her right away and stabilize her until their scheduled allowed for the Veterinarian to see her. Within a few hours the Dr personally called me and spent 15+ minutes discussing diagnosis, treatment, and future prevention with me. She was very kind and knowledgeable answering all of my questions although she was likely very busy! One of the ladies gave me her personal phone number and said that if I had an after hours emergency, I could give her a call! There is nothing more valuable than an office that treats your pet and their care like it is their priority, especially when they are willing to create time within an already scheduled day to handle your emergency! This is a great veterinary office!

I cannot speak more highly of a vet than Dr. Nelson and the staff at Blue Hills. I entrusted my most precious friend, an elderly greyhound, with the services of this incredible little clinic. From routine examinations, to boarding, to medical expertise, and to end of life care, I received personalized care that extended more than I could have ever thought possible from a vet. I received a call yesterday from Dr. Nelson who was as choked up as I was as we discussed my dear friend's prognosis, and as I held him in my arms for the last time early this morning, and he left his old arthritic body, the Blue Hills teary eyed staff consoled me with embraces and love. This place is a rare gem that provides top tier empathetic medical care, comprised of staff that truly love what they do. I have moved frequently, and have experienced many different vets in cities big and small, but this vet was the easy winner.

I will definitely be coming back in the future to see Dr. K and staff! She was so good with our cat during his procedure and gave him excellent care. She spoke with me at the clinic and let me know exactly what was going on with my cat and made recommendations for what I can do in the future with him. Their prices are very reasonable for the services they provide and even worked with me on what we could afford today and made a plan with us on what we should do in the weeks coming. The techs were also amazing and kept me up to date on every single thing that they did, and didn't do anything without my permission. I absolutely love this clinic and will be recommending to all my friends! Thank you Dr. K and the staff!! :)

Unfortunate that the tests and results seemed to only accomplish draining my bank account instead of assisting in the betterment of my cat's health.

However, less than a month after these tests, my cat continued to lose weight, stop eating and begin drinking a lot but lacked the urination frequency that such an intake should elicit. His bowel became distended, bloated and he has been unable to use the restroom. Finally, he ended up spending most of the day sitting and staring at a wall until we realized he was suffering and needed to be put down.

Overall, the staff was friendly and attentive, empathetic to a pet owner worried about a long-term friend. A few were off-putting and rude, but maybe it was a bad day.

Originally I had a good experience with this location. After having taken multiple pets here and having great experiences, I took my cat in for updated vaccinations and to investigate weight loss, reduced appetite and overall different behavior.

Thumbs down, overall. I know death is inevitable, however I am extremely disappointed to lose Tobie after being assured he was healthy, just eating less because of a cavity. Seems an inaccurate assessment ; close, but no cigar. #bummer
